Part 2- Chaco Canyon

Since the last time we went to Colorado, Jared has talked about Chaco Canyon. He said that he was always in too much of a hurry to get to Durango that he never took the time to stop. We decided that we would finally take the time to visit. It was 20 miles of rough dirt road but we finally made it.

Kimber was so happy to be our of her carseat!

This is the first set of ruins we saw. Look carefully. They are there.
Pueblo Bonito. This place was huge! It's just a small part of what was build when the Indians lived here.

Just cold enough for jackets.

Gotta love the shadows.

We drove out right at sunset. It was beautiful.
After the Canyon we drove to Farmington for some Outback. I splurged and got prime rib and let me tell you, it was delicious. From there we drove onto Durango. We saw at least 40-50 deer on the way and only hit one. Jared was pretty sad when he looked to see if there was any damage and there was none. I attribute that to his mad maneuvering skills. You see, his dream is to total a vehicle by hitting a giant animal of some kind. Of course in his dream no one gets hurt.

Love the pictures of the ruins!

And, Ryan was reading over my shoulder and said, "What kind of dream is THAT?! Jared's psycho!"
