Another one home

Yesterday we made another trip to the airport to welcome home this guy-

(He's gonna kill me for this no-neck picture!)

My little brother, Jordan just finished his mission to Rochester, NY.  He is my fourth brother to come home and although they all have the confused, "where am I?, please let me turn around and go back" look, he was the worst I have seen!  That didn't take long though and he was just back to the same old Jordy.

He wanted some real Mexican food so my Dad made his delicious and famous red chili burros.  Mmmmmm!  The family had a good time chatting and hearing his stories.  Classic returned missionary scenario.  After everyone left Travis, Jordan and I talked about all kinds of fun stuff until Travis finally decided he needed to head home.  Jordan and I continued the conversation until 1 am.  It was great!

This morning we started off the day by playing piano/guitar duets.  We went through the Beatles songbook and randomly stop at a song.  We play paying no attention to the timing, just playing the way we think it should be done and every so often one of us will pipe in and sing a line or two.  Always fun.  Later this morning we're off to get him some clothes this morning and then it's lunch at Someburro's.  One of his favorites.  It's going to be especially nice because I will be kid free!  More to come on that.

For the first time in three years I have no missionary brother to write or pray for (not that that means there aren't any missionaries to I could write or pray for), but it's sure nice to have everyone around again.

Out of the mouth of babes

One evening last week while eating dinner Addie looks at me and says, "Mom, you look really different in the morning."

Thanks a lot, Addie.  Not sure how to take that one.

Is it any worse than what Kimber said to me a few weeks ago?  "Mom, you look like a Barbie."

Great, do I have a strangely disfigured body?  Do I wear too much make-up?  Is my hair too big?  Too blonde?  Do my hips stick out too far?

These girls are doing a number on my self image.

Pictionary

My girls love to get out the dry erase markers for a mean game of Pictionary.  We play it several times a week.  Sometimes their drawings really crack me up and other times I'm left puzzled at what the heck I am looking at.

Just for you, Heather

For weeks now my sister has been asking me to take a picture of my belly.  I am finally obliging.

Here it is at 19 weeks.

Bellies

Good-bye 27, Hello 28!

Mom tag re-do

Addie is a blog-stalker of sorts.  Mostly to our blog.  She loves to go back and look at pictures and have me read the posts to her.  Earlier we came across this and while she was on my lap, I decided to ask her the same questions.  Over a year and a half has passed since I last asked her those questions.  Boy, how she has started to see somethings in a new light.  Thankfully.

Addie-
1. What does mom always say to you?
Addie, go and clean up in the front room.

2. What makes mom happy?
When I do something nice for you.

3. What makes mom sad?
When I hit you.  (That has never happened.  Not sure where that came from.)

4. How does mom make you laugh?
Do funny stuff like when you put a balloon in your shirt.

5. How old is mom?
25

6. How tall is mom?
20 inches

7. What does mom like to do?
Play with us

8. What is mom's job?
To clean up the house.

9. What is mom's favorite food?
Jalapenos with steak.  (I've never had the combination.  Sounds interesting.)

10. How do you know your mom loves you?
Because we love you.  And you do fun stuff with us.

And while I was at it, I asked Kimber the same questions.

Kimber-
1. What does mom always say to you?
Blow balloongs.  (As she attempts to blow up a balloon.)

2. What makes mom happy?
Eating birthday cake.

3. What makes mom sad?
Mean.

4. How does mom make you laugh?
Say 'hee-hee.'

5. How old is mom?

6. How tall is mom?
THREE!

7. What does mom like to do?
Do the dishes

8. What is mom's job?
Um, go.

9. What is mom's favorite food?

10. How do you know your mom loves you?
Ba-cause you tell me.
