Call me crazy

I joked with my sister in law yesterday that I am always doing something new and weird. I think the word I used was "granola-ish." (No offense Raygon, although I am pretty sure you would take that as a compliment!)

Well, I read about some crock-pot yogurt that my friend made and decided that as much yogurt as I eat, it was worth a try. And guess what? It is the best yogurt I have ever had in my entire life! Plus, it was so easy!

My friend recommend this recipe and also suggested adding about 1 cup of sugar and 2 teaspoons of vanilla to the finished product. I also followed her advice and didn't add the fruit. I want to be able to add fruit according to what I might be hungry for that day. Today it was strawberries.

I'm telling you people, it is scrumptious! And now I have one more thing to take OFF my grocery list!

Priorities

For as long as I can remember my parents have gone on a date every week. If they couldn't go on Friday, they would choose another night. They always went no matter what. I always knew it was important but sadly I didn't make it priority for me and Jared until recently.

A few weeks ago we decided that we would have a date night every week no matter what. We usually try to have some sort of date but the girls always came, defeating the whole purpose of the word. Plus, I didn't want to do the work it takes to find a babysitter, prepare the house and the girls for the night and then pay her. But after the last few weeks of doing just those things, I have decided that that time away is priceless! It's not always an exciting date but it's always fun and we enjoy being alone.

And would you believe me that every date night Jared asks if I want to see a movie? I bet you know what I tell him. Um, NO! But last night I had a slight change of heart I decided to give in. But instead of going to the movies I talked him into picking one out and buying it. I mean, it would cost us just as much to go to the movies as it would for us to pick one out and buy it.

So we searched and searched and finally came across Fireproof. I have heard of it and our Bishop highly recommends it, but to be honest I thought it looked cheesey. We bought it anyway.

And guess what? It was cheesey! And the acting wasn't anything to win a Grammy over. But the movie itself was great. I think that every couple (no matter how strong or weak their marriage might be) should watch it just once.

I'm such a good mother

Kimber had her first taste of jalapeno the other day. It was sitting on the counter while I was preparing dinner and Kimber decided to take a bite. And being the good mother that I am, I got her a piece of bread and some milk and started laughing, all while snapping picture of her sad little face.

One Woman's Trash is Another Woman's Treasure

Give me some paint, some fabric, and some staples and I will have myself a few new pieces of furniture. Oh how I love garage sales!

$5! I have already painted it and now just need to add a seat.
$10. It's aready hanging in my girls room. You can't tell but it stick out about 4 or so inches from the wall. And it's upside down in this picture.

I splurged! I called Jared to see what he though and he told me to do it and that we could work on it together. I spent $40 on this bench (it is marked $50). It will go at the end of our bed. And in cause you are wondering, you put a round pillows at each end.
$10. I think I am going to go back to see if she still has the other two.
This vintage-ish looking bowl- a buck. (It really is a bowl, not a plate.)

And a little bonus- I have had both the easel and the platter for ever and just haven't found the right thing to do with either of them.

Until now.

I'm really not a doily person but it's from my mother in law so I though it was a thoughtful touch.
