Unnecessary Necessities

Today we hit up JC Penny's just for the heck of it. I really hate that store but we were in Show Low anyway so decided to take a look. We didn't really need anything but when I found these things I just had to buy them. Thank goodness for birthday money!

These puppies: originally $100.00. I paid $16.84. This was great because I have been looking for brown boots for so long! My legs will be thanking me on Sunday!
These: originally $15.99. I paid $3.36. Addie is growing out of her size 8's but I have been putting off buying her new shoes since summer is so close. These should hold her over.
And these: originally $74.00. I paid $12.63. Just because I love my husband!
And last of all: originally $80.00. I paid $16.84. I love him a whole lot.
I also got a shirt that cost me $3.78, but when it was all said and done we saved $236.54! Sure, we didn't really save because we spent $57.78, but it was birthday money. You get to do whatever you want with that, right?
PS- I know that if you do the math the total doesn't add up to $57.78, but we had a $10 off coupon. Yay for coupons!
I'm going to say we made out like bandits!

Birthday Follow-up

I can pretty much confirm that this was that best birthday ever. The whole day was perfect. Including the weather, very important.
After my sisters left I decided to take my girls to the cemetery to see Grandma. We go just about everyday but in honor of my birthday we made a special trip. Now many of you are going to call me crazy, but I let my girls get out and play! We wanted Marlene to be part of the party! They ran around her grave, rearranged the flowers, went to see Aunt Mildred, rearranged her flowers, ran around some more and finally posed for some pictures. My girls were in heaven! (No pun intended!!!) We also wore comfy pants all day. It's a rule around here, if you aren't going to see anyone (that part of it has backfired many times) and you aren't going anywhere soon, take your jeans off and put on some comfy pants! But since it was my birthday I felt a little more justified. I'm not colorblind, don't worry. I know none of us match.I can't imagine the "advice" Addie is giving Kimber. If you know Addie at all then you know it's probably something like "now look at Mom, Kimber. Look at the camera." She'll make a great Mom someday.
I know this isn't the greatest picture but I just had to share Addie's outfit. After we got home from the Cemetery we played outside for a while. When the sun started to set and Addie's legs got cold so she went inside and put this little number together. All cute pieces...on their own. Not to mention the skirt is size 2T.
To finish off the night Jared put together a little party with some family. It was so fun! Unfortunately there aren't any pictures of that. I insisted we stay home for the night and not go out so he brought the party here. I have to say that I was pretty impressed with him. He got a whole bunch of pizza and drinks for everyone, somehow we ended up with a salad (thanks Ashby! Did he ask you to do that?) and he even got Traci to make me another birthday cake. Her cakes are becoming an annual tradition around here. The one detail he did forget was candles. But don't worry, he improvised. After Halloween we bought some of those candles you put in your pumpkins that will burn all night. Here's a picture.

The flame was huge but it served its purpose. Also, I'm picking Kimber's lip, not nose!

Last of all, I did get what I asked for!

The Best Birthday Ever...

And it's not even over yet! I'm reluctant to say that today is my birthday. I don't like to drag attention to it, not to mention that it's my 27th, YUCK!. But after all of the great things that have happened so far I feel I have to share!

First of all, I found these on my kitchen counter this morning. Along with a very sweet card and a new body pillow from Jared. He says my other present will be here this afternoon. I'm excited to find out what it is and hope it's what I asked for! I'll let you know.
Yesterday I had gone to Flagstaff with my cousin Ashby for some Sam's Club stock up shopping and when I got home two of my sisters, Heather and Annie were waiting for me! I could have cried I was so happy! They drove up from the Valley just to be with me! We got to hang out and have a fun dinner before they headed over to stay the night with our oldest sister, Bethany. They all came back this morning and we instantly picked up right where we left off. The only thing that was missing was my two sisters in law, Allie and Briana. They complete us!
My Dad sent up a little gift for me. Every year for our birthdays when we were little he would put together a box for us with some yummy junk food. We always looked forward to it and when I saw what he had put together I was so happy! He even put it in a box!
Bethany made an amazing lunch. I don't know how else to put it. I ate almost two and a half sandwiches.

She also made my favorite cake ever. Mexican Wedding Cake. Mmmmm!
This was before...

This happened:Note to self: Keep your hair out of the flames. Sometimes I forget that I have long hair.

The kids had a good time playing too.

Little Ivy was so happy! Isn't she a cutie? We decided to take a picture of all of us and it was not an easy task. You would have thought we were a bunch of kids. (Um, can you say "Where's Waldo?" I will never wear that shirt in pictures again! Annie's doesn't stick out half as bad!)
I love this one because we were all trying to hold back our laughter. After the picture was taken we all busted up. This is a more natural picture. Oh, how I love sisters.
And this picture depicts my feelings as I watched them drive away. Seriously.
And the madness doesn't stop with my sisters. I have so many good friends and other family members who are so thoughtful. So many of them have called, one has offered to take me to lunch later this week, one offered to keep my kids so Jared and I could go out tonight, one dropped by with a HUGE balloon and one of my favorite treats ever, Peanut Butter M&M's, one brought by this super cute purse she made and much more.
This has been the best birthday I can remember!

A little Thursday Night Competition

We usually have something planned just about everynight of the week. Whether it's Jared's Bishopric meetings, Family Home Evening, Bunco, or a family even, it doesn't leave very many open nights for just plain old family fun at home. Last Thursday night we met up with Jared's Dad for in Holbrook for dinner and after getting home we found ourselves with nothing else planned. Kimber got out the ball and bat and we found ourselves having a friendly little competition. That might be too generious of a word considering I have no coordination what so ever and the girls can't keep up with Jared's baseball skills, it was still fun.

We were trying to see who could keep the ball going the longest. I think my longest streak was 4 or something. Like I said, I have no coordination. Jared on the other hand seriously kept it going for atleast 5 minutes before he said that his hand was hurting and he had to stop.

Kimber has discovered baseball and just loves it! Many time through out the day she will bring me the ball and try to swing at it with the bat.
