Wanted: A little R & R

Lately I have been exhausted. I don't know if it is because I always feel like I have so much to get done, I don't know if have over trained this week with my running, I don't know if it's because I get up so early, I don't know if something is wrong with me (I watched an episode of the Dr.'s last night and I officially diagnosed myself as a hypochondriac) or if I am just flat out TIRED!

I'll admit that I like to be busy. I like to have lots of things going on and I enjoy being a busy body (it runs in my family) but lately I wish I could be lazy for just one day. Just let my house go to pot, let my kids run around in their pajamas all day without getting their hair done, order take out and sleep the day away. In reality I know I would never enjoy that and that I would hate every second of it, but there are periods throughout the past few days where I feel it would be bliss.

But the world must go on.

And so instead of one lazy day I am looking forward to this weekend. For the first time in my life as a mother, I am leaving my girls to go away. Jared and I will be celebrating our 7th anniversary on Sunday and my sweet, sweet sister talked me into leaving my girls with her and going away for the weekend. It will be short and sweet, just Friday night and we'll be home Saturday sometime, but I am looking forward to enjoying a little R & R. (Everyone knows that means rest and relaxation, right?)

What more could a girl want?

A carrot, no undies and the sand between your toes.
Life is good.

1 project down, 10 trillion to go

Today I finished the chairs I picked up at the yard sale last week. I was going to paint them black but after "consulting" with my sister we agreed that not everything has to be black. So for now I am giving the white a try.

Remember the before?
Well, here's the after shot:

And just for you Mel! You wanted to see where I put them so here ya go! Since you have no idea what the layout of the house is this probably doesn't really help.

For now the other chair is next to my couches. No picture, sorry Mel! I'm always working on something so I'll post the next project when I get it done.

Call me crazy

I joked with my sister in law yesterday that I am always doing something new and weird. I think the word I used was "granola-ish." (No offense Raygon, although I am pretty sure you would take that as a compliment!)

Well, I read about some crock-pot yogurt that my friend made and decided that as much yogurt as I eat, it was worth a try. And guess what? It is the best yogurt I have ever had in my entire life! Plus, it was so easy!

My friend recommend this recipe and also suggested adding about 1 cup of sugar and 2 teaspoons of vanilla to the finished product. I also followed her advice and didn't add the fruit. I want to be able to add fruit according to what I might be hungry for that day. Today it was strawberries.

I'm telling you people, it is scrumptious! And now I have one more thing to take OFF my grocery list!
