Let me start off by telling you something that annoys me terribly. I cannot tell you how many times I have had this conversation with people:
Them: "when are you due?"
Me: "The beginning of July."
Them: "Do you know what you're having?"
Me: "Nope."
Them: "Are you going to find out?"
Me: "Are you stupid? I have gone this long without finding out and I have just about six weeks left. Why in the world would I find out now?"
Actually that last part only happens in my head, but I wish I could say it out loud!
Anytime someone finds out I don't know I get one of two reactions. It's either, "Oh, I couldn't do that. I have to know." Or "Good for you!" I have been pleasantly surprised at how many think it's great.
So today I decided to check out the clothing situation in case we have a boy. There are 12 bins of clothing out in storage and just 1 of them is marked "Baby Boy." It's a small collection (about half of a storage bin) of clothing and receiving blankets I collected when I was pregnant with Kimber, just in case.
I realized it's a sad collection of pajamas that are too big and that I don't even have something I can bring a boy home from the hospital in. When I get to the Valley I'll buy an outfit or two just to get us home. I figure that after that I won't be leaving the house much for a while so there is plenty of time for Internet shopping.
I also pulled out the bin of girl's newborn clothing and let the girls pick out an outfit we could bring a sister home in. Since it will be July and they were both born in the winter, I didn't have lots to choose from but they settled for a little onesie with a ladybug on it.
Addie wants a brother more than anything and Kimber wants a little sister. Jared and I both agree that we don't care either way. And that's the truth. Jared thinks he has an idea of what it is, but just in case he's wrong, I'm going to keep that to myself. As for me, I can honestly say that I will be surprised either way. I have no premonition or feeling about one or the other. Happy and healthy, that's all I'm asking for.
