Finished!

I actually finished the table on Saturday, but I have been without my computer since right after my last post.  We got some nasty malware that literally took over my entire computer.  It was vicious.  But, after much stress and many headaches I (no thanks to HP or Microsoft.  I swear my next computer is going to be a Mac!  No joke!) I did a complete recovery on my computer and we're back in business.

So, back to the table.  I went red!  (Please pardon the dust.

And just to tease you, I worked this little number over today.  A little something I bought at a garage sale a while back.  Once I get it hung and find the right knick-knacks, I'll show you the finished product.

I've got the itch!

Since the weather is warming up, I have been dying to get outside and do a project.  I keep thinking that the wind will stop for a day or two so that I can get outside and do something and today it finally did! 

We got new furniture this week so I decided that my coffee table was the perfect project. My plan is to give it to a friend of mine but if it doesn't end up the way I want, then no worries!  I can junk it!


Before Jared took off the top layer for me and I ran the sander over it, it was pitted and let's just say well used. 

Currently it looks like this-

 If the weather stays nice over the next few days it will be complete!  And this will be one happy girl.

Don't Underestimate Me!

I just got off the phone with the hospital.  I was trying to preregister and get some pricing.  Since I am a VBAC patient I can only deliver at certain hospitals so I called around to a few places to get their pricing for private pay patients.

The lady at one particular hospital was extremely helpful but insisted on giving me the price for the epidural "just in case."  She asked what number baby this was for me and when I responded that it was the third she asked if I had medication with the other two.  When I said no she quickly said "good for you!  But here is the phone number to the Anesthesiologist anyway."  I didn't bother writing it down.  She thought it was great that they had a private pay plan that might work for me.  I kept insisting that I wouldn't need it, she kept insisting that I would.

It's people like that that encourage me to do this naturally just to prove them wrong.  Having or not having pain medication is a personal decision.  I have my mind made up and it will not change.  I've endured two long labors and one delivery medication free and I fully intend to do it again.  I even lived to tell about it!  Not to mention that when you are private pay you save yourself a pretty penny.

So just to prove to the "just in case" lady that she was wrong, I think after giving birth I'll hop out of bed and run down the stairs just to introduce myself.  "Just in case" she had any doubt that I could do it.
