While playing Barbie's with my girls this morning I caught a glance of the ceiling in one of the rooms.  Upon further examination, the ceilings in other rooms had been graffitied as well.  Here's what I found:

Me: Addie!  Did you write on your Barbie house already?

(Notice the choice of words.  Already.  
It's not uncommon to find Addie's name written in and on all kinds of things.)

Addie:  Yes.

Me:  What the heck?

Addie:  It's a ceiling fan.

How do you argue with that?

"Just another day"

At least that is the way Jared described his birthday.  Until he got home from work and the girls attacked him out of excitement.  Really, you would have thought that it was their birthday's.  Per their request we spent the day decorating the house with balloons, streamers and signs.  We also wrapped and worked on Jared's cake.  Pretty much the hardest cake their is to make.  At least in my book.  But, we tackled it.

(Never mind my avocado-marble counter tops, they're classic.)

For weeks I had planned on taking Jared to this one particular restaurant, but once he finally got home it was getting late and we were all hungry.  So, we settled for something here in town and then came back home for cake and presents.  

Another Busy Weekend

For the third weekend in a row, we made our way to the Valley.  (I can think of at least 10 trips that we have made to the Valley since October.  I'm looking forward to spending a few weekends at home for a while.)  This time we went for my little brother's wedding.  We spent Thursday night partying at the reception (is that what you call it if it's held before the couple is actually married?) which was beautiful.  They got married Friday morning and I am pretty sure I have never seen such a giddy couple.

After the wedding we had a luncheon.  The food was nothing short of awesome!  It was fun to get to know her family a little better and visit with everyone. 

After the luncheon we made a mad dash to make out appointment that was set to get family pictures.  Check out a few here.  We told Ashby we would meet her at 3:45 and didn't walk in the door to even start getting ready until that exact minute.  Our colors turned out blah and my girls hair was less than cute, but over all she did a great job!

And since we hadn't rushed enough we hurried home, left our girls with their cousin Savanna and rushed out the door once again, this time with Ashby to meet Jared's siblings and Ashby's husband for dinner and a movie.  We scarfed down our food and then made our way to the theater to watch Sherlock Holmes.  It was such a fun night!

Saturday was less hurried and way more relaxed.  We stopped at Williams Gateway and let the girls watch the planes take off.  It turned into Jared watching the planes and girls enjoying the green grass. 

We don't know what green grass is right now, so they loved rolling down the hill and just laying in it.  

After the planes we headed to my parent's house for a while.  It's always fun to go back home and my Dad always has something interesting to tell us.  The girls love to be with Annie and always love spending time at Grandma Stanford's house.  She lives in the mother-in-law quarters.

After Mom and Dad's it was time to pick oranges!  The guy my Dad works for has more oranges than he knows what to do with.  I told my little family that we were going to get so many oranges and we were going to eat them until we can't stand the sight of them.  We picked about 50 lbs and we are doing just that!  Orange juice, orange juliuses, orange slices.  It's all delicious. 

The girls were such good helpers and ran with armfuls of oranges back to the boxes.

To end the day we ran over to Ryan and Ashby's house for a "quick" visit.  I just wanted to see the pictures she had taken for us the day before but it turned into hours of watching the girls play together, laughing, talking and much more.  It was a great way to end our trip. 

Although each trip is filled with lots of things to do, I am looking forward to having a normal Saturday and actually getting some "weekend" things done.
